A Shelter Dog No More

When my mom Renee Lardieri read LifeZette’s story Give Me Shelter about abandoned dogs in the United States, she knew she had to act.

“I wanted company for my first dog, and the kids wanted a little puppy. When you told me it was Adopt-a-Shelter Dog month, I went on Petfinder.com and saw all the faces. I was hooked,” my mom told me.

She found Zoe, a big-eyed, 8-week-old shepherd and labrador retriever mix.
